Centro de la Comunidad was formed to help the Hispanic, multicultural and diverse population of southeastern Connecticut improve their education and employment opportunities. The agency offers translation services; job assistance; GED, computer, English and Spanish enrichment courses. It also offers social services to ensure adequate access to food, housing and health care.  Also offered are adult and youth enrichment programs.

The Latino Arts and Cultural Diversity Program is a program provided at Centro for the youth and adults interested in the Performing Arts (Dance/Theatre/Music). With a variety of children’s Dance Troupes ranging from Latino, Folkloric, Modern and Hip Hop, they have participated in many talent shows, competitions, performances and parades in New London County. They have participated and performed at the 1st Annual Garde Arts Theater talent show, which was published in
The Day and The New London Times newspaper. Our 6 groups include - Groups we created and founded: JMD (Juventud Magica Dancers), IKOD (Imperial Kings of Dancers), The Epic Dance Crew and Groups we sponsor: WTO Dance Crew, New
London Mega Stars Dance Crew, The New London Dance Initiative.
