The agency was formed in 1969 by a group of Latin American residents of New London and then evolved into Centro de la Comunidad by the merging of Nuestra Casa and the Spanish American Cultural Organization known as SACO. Centro de la Comunidad has served our clients for over 47 years. Our mission is to promote the empowerment of Hispanics and cultivate active participation by all members in our Multicultural society.  Centro de la Comunidad has provided various educational programs and services such as ESL (English as a Second Language) G.E.D Classes (General Educational Development), Certified Nurse’s Aide Training, Spanish Classes, Social Services & Case Management, Job Readiness Program and Community Services.
